ATM News Network: In a resounding victory for sustainable agricultural practices, New Holland Agriculture, a brand under CNH Industrial, has been bestowed with the coveted Gold Award at the 10th National CSR Times Award 2023. The accolade is in recognition of their transformative "Sustainable Environment Solutions" program, which confronts the critical issue of crop stubble burning in 16 key regions across India.
The annual CSR Times Awards ceremony, held in New Delhi, serves as a prestigious platform for celebrating outstanding achievements while inspiring a diverse spectrum of stakeholders, including Corporates, Corporate Foundations, NGOs, Government and Public Sectors, and Individuals, to actively engage in projects that leave a lasting, positive impact on society.
Expressing his delight at the win, Mr. Narinder Mittal, Country Manager and Managing Director of CNH Industrial – Agriculture Business (India and SAARC), remarked, "We are profoundly honored to receive this recognition for our Sustainable Environment Solutions program. This acknowledgment reaffirms our commitment to effecting meaningful change in society through our sustainable initiatives. At New Holland Agriculture, our dedication extends to driving positive transformation through innovative and sustainable practices that not only benefit the agricultural sector but also the broader community. This accolade serves as a catalyst, motivating us to persist in our mission of creating impactful initiatives for a brighter future."
The award-winning "Sustainable Environment Solutions" program represents a strategic effort to combat crop stubble burning by promoting sustainable straw management practices and encouraging the utilization of stubble in various industries, including power plants, thereby ensuring an economic return for farmers. This pioneering initiative advocates the use of advanced equipment such as rakes and balers for eco-friendly straw management, concurrently fostering awareness about the harmful consequences of crop residue burning.
From 2017 to 2022, the program has facilitated the baling of nearly 2 million tons of paddy straw, significantly reducing carbon emissions that would otherwise result from stubble burning.
New Holland Agriculture stands as a trailblazer in providing innovative agricultural solutions, offering a diverse range of tractors, combine harvesters, and agricultural implements. These technologies enhance efficiency and productivity across various applications, including tillage, plantation, harvesting, post-harvesting, commercial operations, and haulage.
This recognition not only underscores New Holland Agriculture's dedication to sustainable farming practices but also serves as an inspiration for the broader industry to follow suit, forging a path towards a greener and more environmentally responsible future.
