ATM News Network: Best Agrolife, a prominent player in India's agrochemical sector, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Syngenta for the marketing of Pyroxosulfone 85% WG herbicide under the brand name "Movondo."
Boosting Crop Yields and Safety
Pyroxasulfone is a pre-emergence herbicide designed for wheat, corn, and soybean crops. It promises increased yields while ensuring exceptional crop safety by eradicating weeds that threaten these crops. Its effectiveness against broadleaf weeds, coupled with its reduced application requirements compared to other commercial herbicides, makes Pyroxasulfone 85% WG a compelling choice for farmers. Notably, it effectively controls Phalaris minor, a significant weed in wheat farming.
Syngenta's Global Leadership
Syngenta, a global leader in crop protection and seeds, holds a substantial share in the global herbicide and commercial seed markets. This collaborative agreement between Best Agrolife and Syngenta aims to maximize the value of this innovative herbicide and establish a robust market presence. The Pyroxasulfone market, valued at over Rs 450 crore, sets ambitious targets for Best Agrolife (BAL), aiming to capture Rs 300-350 crore of the Proxysulfone market within the next three years.
Local Manufacturing Advancement
Historically, India relied on imports for Pyroxasulfone. However, with the approval for local manufacturing of Pyroxasulfone 85% WG herbicide, BAL has become the first Indian agrochemical business to produce it domestically. Seedlings India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BAL, will spearhead its production in India. This marks a significant shift, as Indian agrochemical companies take the lead in exporting these molecules to multinational counterparts.
Patent for Synergistic Pesticidal Composition
In addition to this milestone partnership, Best Agrolife has secured a 20-year patent for a Synergistic Pesticidal Composition. This composition includes two insecticides and a fungicide, addressing critical challenges in rice cultivation.
