ATM News Network : The Northern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (NRFMTTI), a division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, based in Hisar, Haryana, has taken a significant step toward empowering the youth for careers in the farm mechanization sector. NRFMTTI has forged a strategic partnership with Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., one of India's leading manufacturers of tractors and agricultural machinery. This collaboration is designed to boost skill development among the youth, ensuring they possess the expertise necessary for a prosperous career in the agricultural machinery industry.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NRFMTTI and Mahindra encompasses several key highlights aimed at bridging the gap between the industry's requirements and the skill sets of young individuals:
1. Skill Development Programs: NRFMTTI and Mahindra will work together to create and implement skill development programs that are finely tuned to meet the specific needs of the farm machinery sector. These programs will equip young individuals with the knowledge and capabilities required to excel in the industry.
2. State-of-the-Art Training Facilities: Mahindra will contribute by establishing world-class training facilities, laboratories, and providing experienced faculty to deliver high-quality training to the students. These resources will ensure that the training is comprehensive and prepares students effectively.
3. Industry-Linked Curriculum: The training curriculum will closely align with the demands of the farm machinery industry. By doing so, the programs will ensure that students are job-ready upon completing their training, with the skills and knowledge that directly apply to real-world industry operations.
4. Internship and Placement Support: The partnership will facilitate internship opportunities for students within Mahindra, enabling them to gain practical exposure to the actual workings of the industry. Additionally, the company will play an active role in NRFMTTI's placement efforts, increasing the likelihood of job placements for program graduates.
Dr. Mukesh Jain, the Director of NRFMTTI, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, recognizing it as a significant stride toward preparing youth for a prosperous future in the agricultural machinery industry.
