ATM News Network: The second edition of 'World Food India-2023' will be organised by the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries from 3-5 November 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Pashupati Kumar Paras and Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Water Power, Prahlad Singh Patel, recently unveiled the website, booklet and promotional video for 'World Food India-2023' at the National Media Centre.
Union Food Processing Industries Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras said India is the fastest-growing economy. In which there are many investment opportunities. Especially in the food processing sector. 'Shri Anna-The Super Food of India', Innovation and Sustainability, 'Green Food', White Revolution 2.0, and 'World Food India-2023' outlined the key elements to make India an export hub.
Minister Paras said that the government expects leading food processing companies from around the world to showcase their strengths during the three-day event. Along with this, a special section of Food Street will be created for business meetings, exhibitions and food experiences. The event will highlight numerous opportunities, available infrastructure, incentives and benefits for investors.
Prahlad Singh Patel said that due to the experience of the previous edition of 'World Food India-2023', the government is looking at this as major global event. India is proud of meeting the world's food needs. Scientific parameters will help further the growth of the food processing industry. Various government initiatives, including PLI schemes for the food processing industry are increasing marketing and branding.
Anita Praveen, Secretary Ministry of Food Processing Industries, said that World Food India-2023 is a unique platform for global investors in food companies. The Ministry aims to make India an export hub with major contributions from food processing and allied industries. The Ministry's focus is on value addition, process machinery, packaging technology and materials others. Millets- 'Shri Anna-The Super Food of India' is a pillar of the program and has a huge investment. Emphasis will be placed on opportunities in post-harvest management such as primary processing and storage, conservation infrastructure, cold chain, refrigerated transport and value addition to organic and nutritious foods.
