ATM News Network: The Milk Producer Farmers Agitation Committee has said that there is no government system in state for certification of milkometer or weighing fork. The milkometer is to check the fat and SNF content in the milk.
Due to lack of regular inspection of weighing forks at milk collection centres, farmers are doubtful about these mechanisms. The committee has requested that there is a need to set up a separate mechanism through the Dairy Development Department to regularly check and validate milk meters and weighing forks.
The Milk Producer Farmers' Agitation Committee has said that they have given repeated representations to the Dairy Development Department in this regard. Milk Development Minister and Milk Commissioner have also been requested to intervene in this matter by giving representations.
Milk prices are determined according to fat and SNF; even if there is a slight change, the milk producer incurs a huge loss. The difference in weight measurement also causes huge loss to the farmer.
Dairy Development Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil should pay attention to this issue and set up an independent milk meter and weighing fork certification system of the Dairy Development Department in the state.
The demand has been made by the committee representatives, Dr Ashok Dhavale, Dr Ajit Navale, Satish Deshmukh, Jyotiram Jadhav, Srikanth Kare, Prof. Ashok Dhage, Dada Gadve, Deepak Pansare, Deepak Wale, Ramnath Vadak, Mangesh Kanhore, Rajkumar Jori, Nandu Rokde, Sitaram Pansare, Amol Gorde, Suryakant Kangude, Sudesh Ingle, Suhas Randhe, Dada Kunjir, Indrajit Jadhav and Avinash Jadhav.
