ATM News Network: Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) has so far procured 32,454 metric tonnes of apples under the Market Intervention Scheme 2023, state Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi said.
He said that HPMC has managed to lift the entire quantity of apples procured under the scheme despite catastrophic rains in the state. HPMC produced a record 1,288 May at three fruit processing centers at Parla, Parwanu and Jarol (Mandi) during the current season. Tons of apple juice concentrate have been produced, they said in a statement issued here.
On this occasion the new web portal of HPMC Ltd. was formally inaugurated. All services of HPMC like booking of controlled atmosphere/cold stores, market intervention scheme and sale of horticulture inputs have been made online through web portal.
He said that the newly established HPMC fruit processing plant at Parla has been successfully tested during the current apple season. HPMC's facility has facilities for manufacturing apple juice concentrate, pectin, ready-to-serve juices and beverages, fruit wine and apple cider vinegar.
