ATM News Network: To tackle global food wastage an Indian company has come up with a solution. The company which started in 2019, has brought a low-cost solution keeping in mind the Indian markets. The company was primarily working on cold storage but soon concluded that the high-cost solution of cold storage is not favourable for the market conditions in India.
GreenPod has innovated a small sachet containing proprietary formulations made of plant extracts and edible ingredients. The sachets release compounds that slow down the ripening rate and inhibit microbial growth. The compounds are made from products like corn and potato extracts, as well as many Indian spices, plants, leaves and other organic products.
