ATM News Network: The H9N2 (bird flu) vaccine technology developed by researchers at ICAR-NIHSAD, Bhopal, has been transferred to Globion India in Secunderabad, Venkateswara Hatcheries in Pune, Indovax in Gurgaon and Hester Biosciences in Ahmedabad. NASC's New Delhi-based Agrinnovate India ensured that the transfer was smooth.
Dr Himanshu Pathak, Chairman, Agrinnovate India Company appreciated the sincere efforts of the researchers at ICAR-NIHSAD Institute to develop the first indigenous vaccine against H9N2 virus. He also praised the management of Agrinnovate India for their successful efforts to transfer the technology of vaccine development to industry.
Dr B N Tripathi, DDG, Department of Zoology, expressed the belief that this vaccine will meet the vaccine standards of domestic as well as foreign markets. This vaccine will significantly contribute to increasing the income of poultry farmers by reducing the losses incurred due to the death of birds due to this disease.
