ATM News Network : In a significant move to expedite the Agricultural Terminal Market project, crucial for the farmers of Nashik district, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection, Chhagan Bhujbal, has directed the transfer of 100 acres of land in Mauje Syed Pimpri, Tt. Dist. Nashik Group No. 1654 to the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board.
Minister Bhujbal presided over a review meeting, which included discussions on various agricultural and infrastructure projects in Nashik. He emphasized the importance of creating a modern agricultural terminal market in Nashik to provide better market access for the region's agricultural produce. The Maharashtra State Board of Agriculture Marketing has already sanctioned the construction of the Agricultural Terminal Market at Nashik.
The decision to transfer 100 acres of land from Group No. 1654 to the Agricultural Terminal Market project was made due to the area's suitability and its inclusion in the commercial use division. The land will be transferred to the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board promptly.
During the meeting, Minister Bhujbal also discussed the acquisition of land for the construction of a railway flyover, road turning, and approach road on the Lasalgaon-Vinchur Rama No.7 road, emphasizing the need to avoid inconveniencing citizens.
The Minister instructed the transfer of land from Savargaon Gram Panchayat for a storage pond in Niphad and requested speedy approvals for land acquisition at Khadakmalegaon. Additionally, he addressed issues related to land acquisition for the Punegaon left canal and Darswadi reach canal, emphasizing fair compensation for affected farmers.
The meeting also saw discussions on the progress of various regional water supply schemes, including Rajapur, Dhulgaon, and Punegaon, aimed at addressing urgent drinking water needs. Furthermore, there were discussions on infrastructure projects, including the Niphad-Kundewadi bridge, with a focus on promoting the dryport project.
This initiative signifies a significant step forward in streamlining agricultural infrastructure in Nashik, ultimately benefiting the region's farmers and agricultural sector.
