ATM News Network: The International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) has revealed the selection of ten exceptional agricultural journalists to partake in the highly anticipated 2023 IFAJ/Corteva Agriscience Master Class. The Master Class, held annually, brings together journalists from Africa, Latin and Central America, Central and South Asia, and Europe. This year's Master Class will be hosted alongside the IFAJ World Congress in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, from June 24 to 26, 2023. Following the Master Class, participants will also attend the 2023 IFAJ World Congress, scheduled to take place in Olds, Alberta, from June 27 to July 3, 2023.
The esteemed journalists chosen for this year's Master Class are as follows: Diego Mañas from Argentina, Shahanuare Shaid Shahin from Bangladesh, Mariana Silva from Brazil, Sofia Spirou from Greece, Mezhukanal Cherian Dominic from India, Ulan Eshmatov from Kyrgyzstan, Joseph Titus Yekeryan from Liberia, Georgia Chirombo from Malawi, Alberto Ruiz from Mexico, and Mustapha Kamara from Sierra Leone.
Corteva Agriscience, a leading agricultural company, is sponsoring the IFAJ's Master Class Programme, which provides an exceptional professional development experience for agricultural journalists from around the world. Recognising the pivotal role journalists play in communicating the importance and necessity of agriculture in society, representatives from Corteva expressed their support for the program.
To kickstart the Master Class, a special two-day program will include workshops focusing on journalism best practices, press freedom issues, interviewing skills, leadership development, and networking. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in farm visits, reporting workshops, and round-table discussions on crucial matters faced by agricultural journalists in the field.
During the IFAJ Congress, Master Class participants will join their colleagues from across the globe. The IFAJ stands as the sole global organization dedicated to agricultural journalism and communications, representing more than 60 nations.
As the 2023 IFAJ Master Class and World Congress commence, agricultural journalists are poised to expand their expertise, exchange ideas, and contribute to the advancement of agricultural journalism worldwide.
