The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is an important scheme of the Central Government that provides direct financial support to farmers. So far, funds have been transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through 21 installments. As farmers now wait for the 22nd installment, some may face delays due to technical issues.
Over 30 Lakh Farmers’ Aadhaar-Bank Linking Still Incomplete
In the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ram Nath Thakur informed that Aadhaar numbers and bank account linking of more than 30 lakh farmers across the country is still incomplete. If this linking is not completed, the concerned beneficiaries may not receive the next installment.
Highest Pending Cases in Uttar Pradesh; Maharashtra Also Affected
According to official data from the Agriculture Ministry as of 6 February 2026, more than 30 lakh cases are pending across the country.

Around 10 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh have not completed linking.Gujarat and Kerala follow next.

Maharashtra ranks eighth, with over 1.7 lakh farmers yet to complete Aadhaar-bank linking.
Aadhaar-Linked Bank Account Mandatory
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, funds are transferred directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. If Aadhaar linking is incomplete, the installment will not be credited. Delays can also happen if bank details are changed or contain errors. Once the required corrections are made, pending installments are credited to the beneficiary’s account.

Farmers can complete Aadhaar-bank linking through both online and offline methods.

Visit the nearest bank branch with Aadhaar card and account details

Special Drive to Clear Pending Cases
To increase coverage, the Agriculture Ministry is conducting a special saturation drive in coordination with state governments. Farmers are being informed to complete Aadhaar linking with the help of Common Service Centres (CSC) and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
