ATM News Network: Attention all start-up enthusiasts! a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, that is National Academy of Agricultural Research Management Technology Business Incubator a-IDEA has announced the opening of the 2nd Call for a-IDEA NABARD CCF Support Investment Fund. The investment fund is designed to support start-ups in the Food, Agriculture, Rural & Allied Fields, and is supported by NABARD, which provides an investment maximum of up to INR 25 Lakhs. The focus areas for the investment support are wide-ranging and include Agriculture and Agritech, Food Technology, Supply/Value Chain, Precession Farming, Agriculture/Animal Genomics & Biotechnology, Plant/Animal Breeding, Bio Environmental Engineering, Micro/Macro Molecules, Post-harvest Processes & Value addition, Microbiology Diagnostics, Veterinary, Fisheries, Forestry, Dairy Technology, Horticulture, Farm machinery, Soil and Irrigation, Bio-Fuels/Energy, Bioinformatics, and other allied areas related to agriculture and allied sciences, irrigation, seeds, bio-pesticides, bio-fertilizers, precision farming, agro-processing, marketing, biofuel, drinking water, sanitation, rural-based traditional and non-traditional activities, energy, health, education, etc.
Start-ups applying for the NABARD CCF 2.0 must meet certain eligibility criteria. They should be registered start-ups with a minimum of three months of incubation support at a-IDEA ICAR NAARM (incubation support shall be provided to successful startups as per a-IDEA ICAR NAARM norms). Start-ups shall possess DPIIT startup certification at the time of applying, and the shareholding by Indian promoters in the incubatee startup should be at least 51%.
The investment fund is particularly interested in start-ups that align with the focus areas mentioned above, have product offerings (vs service offerings), support for "Valley of Death" start-ups, IP-rich enterprises, and strong knowledge components in enterprises.
This is a golden opportunity for start-ups in the Food, Agriculture, Rural and Allied Fields to receive incubation and investment support.
