ATM News Network: The India Cold Chain Conclave 2023 organised in New Delhi, was inaugurated by Manoj Ahuja, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare with the theme of Innovation and Excellence in Cold Chain today at LPS Auditorium, PHD House.
India Cold Chain Conclave has been organised with an exhibition for bringing together all the industry leaders and key decision makers on one common platform where they can discuss and deliberate on the development of the Cold-chain industry sustainably.
On the occasion, the secretary, of DA&FW, Manoj Ahuja awarded a letter of acceptance to the Cluster Development Agency for Grapes Cluster at Nashik, Maharashtra. The letter of acceptance was given on 19th January 2023. At the time Managing Director of Sahyadri Farms, Vilas Shinde was present on the occasion.
About 22.27 Million Tonne Cold storage capacity has been established under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) taking the total capacity in the country to about 38.22 Million Tonnes.
Cold-chain infrastructure benefits the farmers by timely connecting them to the market, thereby reducing their crop loss and increasing their net profit. The cold storage infrastructure can reduce food wastage, minimise food inflation, ensure food quality and improve the shelf lives of perishable products.
Manoj Ahuja said that Technological innovation is important for the growth and development of the Indian Cold Chain Industry during the India Cold Chain Conclave at the PHD House, New Delhi on 19th January 2023.
Dr Abhilaksh Likhi, Additional secretary, DA&FW said that the Indian Cold Chain Industry is expected to experience significant growth in the coming years during the India Cold Chain Conclave.
