ATM News Network: Subsidy for bulk milk coolers will be given to eligible women self-help groups and farmer producer companies under the integrated milk development program of district annual plan in the state. Registration of these self-help groups under Maharashtra Rural Livelihood Mission (UMED) is mandatory.
Funds are made available for various components through the district annual plan to strengthen the member cooperative milk organisations of the milk unions by promoting the dairy industry through the cooperative sector in the state. In this, limited funds are provided for purchase of computer secretaries, milko testers, bulk milk coolers with one and two thousand capacity sets depending on the milk collection capacity.
According to the request of Ahmednagar District Collector, Dairy Development Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil had directed to distribute bulk milk coolers to farmers producing companies along with self-help groups. A government order has been issued accordingly.
Registration of Beneficiary Women's Self Help Group under Umad Yojana is mandatory to get Bulk Milk Cooler. Agricultural dairy businesses of women self-help groups must have such registration. Also, it is mandatory for cooperatives and private suppliers to have milk supply for three consecutive years.
Beneficiary must have second assessment certificate of women's self-help group. Also, these self-help groups and FPOs should not have any kind of arrears. A certificate of their financial standing must be given by the Group Development Officer or the Agriculture Officer. The beneficiary organizations should not have benefited from any government scheme before.
To benefit from this scheme, women self-help groups and FPOs will have to submit a detailed demand proposal through the District Dairy Development Officer. After the proposal is submitted, it will be scrutinized and sent to the Dairy Development Commissioner for approval.
