A drone company signs an MoU with agricultural universities
ATM News Network: IoTechWorld Aviation, a leading agricultural drone company, has entered into an MoU with Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University (VNMKV), Parbhani, to promote the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in India to increase agricultural productivity. The agreement was announced by the company recently.
The Gurugram-based company entered into this agreement with a leading educational institution to create awareness among farmers along with research in drone technology to increase agricultural production. The company also announced a similar agreement with Mahatma Phule Agricultural University in Rahuri last month.
Informing about the MoU, the representatives said that both the institutes will work for cooperation in science and technology including the promotion of drones in the agricultural sector and the development of the Agricultural Training Centre and Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) in the university.
Deepak Bhardwaj, a co-founder of IO Techworld Aviation, said that partnering with universities will help the company to create awareness among farmers as well as research into drone technology.
The use of agricultural drones has increased among farmers, and many farmers' organizations have also participated in this campaign. These unmanned aerial robots are useful as they save not only cost but also time. Another major objective of the agreement is to create farmer-friendly training modules and drone pilots in the proposed RPTOs in universities.
Mr Bharadwaj further said that IoTechWorld Aviation will be the technical partner of the university to establish a remote pilot training organization. It will also help to fill the shortage of drone pilots in the country.
According to government estimates, India will need at least one lakh drone pilots by next year. Interestingly, IO Techworld Company has its pilot training centre. In this centre, farmers are trained to fly drones. The company also helps farmers to get a drone pilot's license.
