ATM News Network: Fertiliser companies IFFCO and Coromandel International Limited (CIL) will introduce Nano DAP for three years. Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Bhagwant Khuba said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Friday that the notification in this regard was issued on March 2. D Ammonium phosphate (DAP) is the second most widely used fertiliser in the country after urea.
State Minister Bhagwant Khuba said IFFCO had informed him that it was setting up a Nano DAP plant with a production capacity of 2 lakh bottles of 500 ml per day at its Kalol plant in Gujarat. Nano DAP will be available in markets across the country once commercial production begins.
IFFCO and CIL have conducted preliminary trials on selected crops at selected institutes of the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), he said.
Nano DAP is the second product after nano urea that is being heavily promoted by the government to reduce subsidies and promote the efficient use of plant chemicals.
