Request to increase agro input dealers' margin and solve issues of dealers
ATM News Network: The Agro Input Dealers Association, New Delhi (AIDA) has requested the State Union Minister of Fertilizers Bhagwant Khuba to amend Fertilizer Control Order 1985, on Thursday. The AIDA also requested to increase the margin of dealers and solve other issues faced by agro input dealers. The minister was on a visit to the Beed district in Maharashtra.
On the occasion the president of AIDA, Manmohan Kalantri discussed various problems faced by the input dealers and to increase the margin which has not been increased in the last 30 years. A letter in this regard was given to Union Minister Khuba.
The letter says, “For the last several years, the dealer margin on fertilizers has not been increased by the fertilizer manufacturing companies, while the prices of fertilizers have increased by 5 to 6 times, therefore it is requested that the dealer margin of the traders should be increased. Instead of per ton, it should be linked to the cost of fertilizer and increased by at least 8 percent.”
“It is also worth mentioning that in the past Rs 50 per tonne discount was given from the supplier company as an MFMS charge that has been stopped. Based on MFMS charges of Rs 300 crore per year dealer's commission has been withheld, since the last seven years, no MFMS commission has been given to dealers. For the last 5 years now we are not getting the MFMS margin of fifty rupees, instructions should be given to the companies to give us the MFMS margin of the last past year and it should be restarted”, it stated.
The letter also mentioned other requests from AIDA including stopping the monthly list of top 20 fertilizers, the practice of forced tagging should be stopped and also requested to amend the Fertilizer Control Order 1985. It was suggested that whenever provisions for amendment are made in future, the above suggestions should be included in them so that the agricultural input traders of this country can run business smoothly.
The minister has given a positive response to the request and suggestions of the dealers. He has promised to look into the matter immediately, informed AIDA president, Kalantri.
